December 1:The begining of our Advent Countdown

We would like to do an advent countdown. We will try to post every day but we sometimes get busy. The days that we do post, if we need to we will do two a or three posts a day.

Cookie Creations-Playdough Cookies

1 cup butter,softened
1 cup powdered sugar
3 hard-boiled egg yolks, mashed
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tarter
2 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
4 paste food colors

1.Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2.Cream butter and sugar.
3.Beat in egg yolks, baking soda, cream of tartar, and vanilla.
4.Add flour a half cup at a time.
5.Divide dough into four parts and add a paste color to each one.
6.Refrigerate dough for at least 1 hour.
7.Form the dough into shapes. (Sometimes we add sprinkles and make faces or designs on the cookies)
8.Bake 10 minutes until firm but not brown.
9.Let cookies cool 5 minutes before transferring them wire racks.
10.Place on plates, bowls, or napkins and enjoy!!!

These became a Christmas Tradition for our extended family because you can play with the dough as much as you want and it will not taste bad. (This is very useful for toddlers so that they can "help" too.)
