Jenna's Breadsticks

Here is a fabulous recipe from our friend Jenna! Since we have milk and egg sensitivities, this is a great recipe for quick and easy breadsticks! One of the reasons we like these is that we can decide 15 minutes before dinner that we want to have warm breadsticks with dinner. Just one thing you might want to remember is that this recipe only makes 8 breadsticks so we usually double it. Another good quality of these breadsticks is that they freeze well!

Jenna's Breadsticks

1 Tablespoon active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 1/2 cups flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the rest of your ingredients and mix. Dump onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes (your dough should be smooth.) Separate the dough into 8 pieces and roll into long strips the size of a restaurant breadstick. Place on baking sheet (if not using silpat mat, grease pan.) Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. (10 minutes should be perfect, unless you like your breadsticks brown.) Take out of oven and place on serving dish. Enjoy!!!!

I'm glad that you like the breadsticks, Leah! And it's great that they don't have eggs or milk in them:)

Have fun with your new precious little sister!!
